The point is that after two months of waiting, after (more than) two months since my Home Depot debacle, we finally have a toilet. It's not hooked up. There's no water flowing to it. It doesn't work. But having indoor plumbing is an important step to having the house ready to live in. Note that I didn't say "done". I said "ready to live in". Because at this point, I'm keenly aware of the fact that we will have to suck it up and live in a house that is - in some way or another - being worked on. After several months of bleeding our savings dry by simultaneously paying rent and a mortgage, I really won't make (too much of) a fuss. As long as there's a bed, indoor plumbing, and functioning kitchen appliances? We will find a way to get by.
